And in a year, maybe it’ll go down a little, to about 616.33 bucks a ton. Prices go up and down, like the chickens in the yard, you never know what they’re gonna do.

What about India? You know, that place over yonder?
Well, in India, they’re makin’ a lot of this stainless steel too. They say by 2034, they’ll be makin’ so much of it, it’ll be worth 31,905.2 million dollars! That’s more than double what they’re makin’ now. They’re buildin’ lots of stuff over there, houses and cars and such, so they need lots of steel. It seems like everybody needs steel.
What kind of steel are we talkin’ about?
There’s this kind they call 304, or 304L, and some other kinds called 316 and 316L and 316Ti. Don’t ask me what all them numbers and letters mean, it’s just fancy talk for different kinds of steel. But they say you can use ‘em all to make this hot rolled or cold rolled stuff. So that’s good, I guess, means there’s plenty of it around.
So, what’s the bottom line?
Well, this hot rolled stainless steel market is big, real big, and it’s gettin’ bigger. Folks all over the world are usin’ it to make all sorts of things, from buildin’s to cars to who knows what else. Prices go up and down, but it seems like there’s always gonna be a need for this strong stuff. So that’s the story, simple as that.
